About Lisa

I'm Lisa Perline, founder of Let's Play, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for helping children navigate their emotions and develop the skills they need to thrive.

My journey into play therapy began with a simple observation: children communicate differently than adults. While adults process the world through conversation, children process it through play. This insight transformed how I approach therapy and has allowed me to connect with children in meaningful, lasting ways.

Every child who walks into my playroom is met with warmth, acceptance, and genuine curiosity about their unique world. I believe that within every child lies the capacity for healing and growth when given the right environment and support.

Therapeutic Philosophy

My Approach to Therapy

I practice Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), a specialized therapeutic approach that honors the child's natural language of play. In CCPT, the child leads the session while I serve as a supportive, attuned presence who reflects their experiences and helps them process their emotions.

This approach is grounded in the belief that children are capable of directing their own healing when provided with a safe, accepting environment. Rather than interpreting or directing their play, I follow their lead, building a therapeutic relationship based on trust and unconditional positive regard.

Through this process, children develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation skills, and confidence. They learn to express their feelings in healthy ways and develop coping strategies that serve them throughout their lives.
